Collection: Dallas in the '80s
Rodeos and whiskey, lear jets and T-bone steaks. Fast cars, fast money, fast women. People worked hard as the hot sun scorched outside while the nights were filled with country-western, mechanical bulls, cowboy boots, long skirts, and daisy dukes. Opened in 1984 in a converted warehouse just north of downtown, the Starck Club was just a safe place where you could finally be yourself in the city. This marvelous place attracted oil-and-gas scions, southern socialites, gay and cross-dressing men, and boldface names like George W. Bush, Princess Stephanie of Monaco and Maureen Reagan. But Dallas was also the epitome of barbecues, beer, and football on Sundays; life was better than good, it was great back in the 80s’. “Strike oil and make it big in Dallas”, because everything was bigger in Texas.
