Collection: Capri in the '50s
Inspired by the '50s, a time when the mystical and lush isle of Capri became the epitome of La Dolce Vita. The streets of 1950s and ‘60s Capri were filled with glitz and glamour, it was often the playground of some of the period's most iconic faces. Jackie Onassis, Grace Kelly, and Prince Ranier, to Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Rita Hayworth, Liz Taylor, Clark Gable, and Kirk Douglas all frequented the Capri scene. Because of this, the island has always been synonymous with fashion: like Capri pants designed in 1948 by fashion icon Sonja de Lennart first worn by Grace Kelly or Florentine designer Emilio Pucci, who launched his haute couture salon on Capri in 1957 crediting the island and its myriad of colours and patterns as inspiration for his designs.
