Collection: Miami In the '80s
In the 1980s Miami was manly and rough, it wasn’t a place for everyone as the clash of culture was shaping the city crowd forever. Wide shirt collar stands and gaudy suits fitted smoothly with the bright and colourful characters in the bars of South Beach, the city was going through an “industrial revolution”. Business was booming and glamorous disco clubs were opening throughout the city generating a vibrant atmosphere made of lush parties and loud music. Everything was allowed and overlooked; this lifestyle was then perfectly depicted by the famous TV-series Miami Vice. Fashion icons started moving into the cultural capital of the orange state such as top fashion designer Gianni Versace who tragically lost his life in his beloved Miami. Today Miami is going through a new and exiting era where the sunny south beach rubs shoulder with the high- end restaurants of downtown Brickell and the hipster street art neighbourhood of Wynwood, now considered one of the top art destinations in the world.
