Collection: NoLo in Milan
Lively, filled with new infectious ideas and a tight community like no other.
NoLo, short for North of Loreto’s square, is the newest trendy neighbourhood in the north east of Milan. Multicultural at its finest, it became the epicentre for youngsters, artists and the Queer community. This reborn district has its own local online radio, RadioNoLo and even it’s distinctive spirit animal, the whale; appropriated from one of the many murales that can be found through out NoLo, especially in via Pontano. Other musts are the Mercato Comunale (Communal Market), built in the ’30s, it now remains open later in the evening with bars and restaurants. It hosts the “off Campus” of the Politecnico University, a project aimed to address social challenges and co-design interventions that have a positive impact on the local communities. Nightlife’s hot spot is Piazza Morbegno with Restaurant “Da Silvano” and cocktail bar “GhePensiMI”. Just a little stroll away, inside the Oratory hidden behind a little wooden door, is Cinema Beltrade. Everyday a large selection of independent movies from around the world are projected, exclusively in original language. During the day the place to spend the sunny spring afternoons is the Trotter Garden. Originally an Hippodrome, it became in the early ‘20s a school that now hosts children from more than 150 different nationalities.
NoLo, a sneak peek into the future on how to integrate.
