Robert Thiemann, a chemical engineer turned editor and publisher, founded Frame magazine, launched in 1997, a magazine of interior designs that aims to capture the most remarkable built environments to inspire a creative audience. As the managing director of Amsterdam-based Frame Publishers, he oversees a portfolio of art, architecture, and design publications, including Mark, Foam, and Elephant. Known for his sharp eye and innovative spirit, Thiemann has expanded.

Frame’s reach is through live events, pop-up stores, and interactive digital experiences. His passion for editorial process, conception, in-depth content, graphic design, and materialization drives him to continue exploring new directions and inspiring global audiences to push the boundaries of design media. 

Robert describes Amsterdam as an inclusive, innovative, and green city. It hosts vast green spaces and is never more than ten minutes away from the park. Walking around, you realize that the streets have turned into bike paths, and cars are just guests going around. Amsterdam is the world's smallest metropolitan city.
