Laura Kampman is a Dutch photographer, composer, and experimentalist who has shifted her focus from visual storytelling to capturing the world through sound. Using her phone, she records environments, conversations, melodies, and everyday moments, weaving these raw fragments into immersive sonic landscapes that echo her unique perspective on life. She describes her compositions as calm and meditative, building a tapestry of emotions that thread through mundane moments of everyday existence. 

Her connection to sound is deeply rooted in her experience of grief. After her father's passing, listening to music became overwhelming, as every song evoked raw, emotional memories. In search of comfort, she turned to her archive of phone recordings—intimate snippets collected over the years without any specific purpose. These recordings became a haven for Laura, offering a space to process her emotions.
